Burnt Diary - An anthology by Moth Orchid Press, 2022

Delighted to see my haibun 'Homesick' in Burnt Diary anthology that is published by Moth Orchid Press on Lulu.

Homesick

It’s an endless conversation without any pause, without any delay, and without any excuses. My laughter, whisper, scream, cries are still the same, no matter how far away I am. I reveal to them my loneliness, regrets, longings, and dreams. I tell them how things have changed around me; the old jazz starts soothing the labyrinth of my ears, squirrels stop hopping after gathering nuts, rustling leaves learn to settle on ground, robin gets attuned to the morning wind, fog transcends into the morning light. I connect with them to the core. family photo… I squeeze myself between two generations

Burnt Diary
Memoir in Haibun and Tanka Prose
edited by Lori A Minor

"With sincerity, warmth, and humor, these 32 poets from around the world demonstrate the possibilities for exploring the personal with haibun and tanka prose. The diverse narratives in Burnt Diary each stand beautifully alone yet also sing together in many-part harmony of the shared emotional experiences of being human—the traumas and delights of childhood, love, family and parenthood, illness and loss—ultimately creating a resonant collective memoir that transcends the concept of anthology."

—Kristen Lindquist, author of It Always Comes Back, winner of the 2020 Snapshot Press e-Chapbook Award

"Burnt Diary offers us a tour through the substance of what we are—the product of a journey. This is a diary of how we are built, how we learn through experience and grow through the changes in our lives. From the wonders of birth to the specter of death, it circumnavigates the cycle of life. Through the voices of these poets and the artful eye of the editor, we discover the shape of our own existence."

—Richard Grahn, founder of Drifting Sands Haibun
