About Me

Hifsa Ashraf: Hifsa Ashraf is an award-winning multilingual poet, author, editor, curator, Urdu translator, and social activist based in Rawalpindi, Pakistan. A pioneer of Japanese-form English micropoetry in Pakistan, she has been published in over 200 literary venues worldwide and received numerous prestigious international awards. A member of the Pakistan Japan Cultural Association, Islamabad, she served as Editor, Curator, and Urdu Translator of Pakistan’s first International Multilingual Anthology (2026), organized by the Association in collaboration with the Embassy of Japan in Pakistan. Her publications include six individual and four collaborative micropoetry collections. She received The Haiku Foundation’s Touchstone Award for Individual Poems (2021), with further shortlist and longlist recognitions in 2022 and 2025. Her collection Her Fading Henna Tattoo received Honourable Mentions in the Touchstone Distinguished Books Award (2020) and Haiku Society of America Merit Book Award (2021). Her haiku featured in the Haiku Music Festival and a 2022 video haiga project. Her latest collection, Beyond Emptiness, received an Honourable Mention in the HSA 2026 Merit Book Awards.
